early 1980s NY Jets TV numbers
As mentioned in Uni Watch, December 29, 2008: ...Greg also notes that the Jets used to have very large TV numbers — “and in the Red Sox font, no less.” …in comments: "Not the Red Sox font, but the Champion font. The TV numbers were a bit larger than usual for a Champion jersey."
Not sure what years they wore these large numbers on the shoulders, maybe one of our Jets experts can help out.

It looks like it started in 1978, when they "modernized" the uniforms. As far as when that ended, the '89 and '90 numbers look somewhat different, but I'll let more knowledgable people than I to make the call.
