Dallas Texans sleeve number / AFL Full Color Football

Just saw a black and white image during the AFL Full Color Football (that is airing right now on NFL Network) of Len Dawson on the sideline during the 1962 AFL Championship, and the "1" on his sleeve is squared off on the top. I don't know for how long or which year or years or if this carried over into Kansas City, but it was squared-off for some of the time.

"AFL Full Color"?

And its in B/W?

well, that's the name of the show, it was a series on Showtime in 2009 and it had a lot of color footage of the AFL 1960s, however it still used some B&W footage of the earliest years cause that's all they had

Plus, the footage of the Texans contest was from the actual ABC broadcast of the 1962 AFL title game, the oldest known broadcast of an AFL game. It's been available out in bootleg land for years.

this last picture again shows how small the Chargers' 1960 helmet number was (as previously mentioned)

And I don't know if this means anything to anybody, but the outline of the white horse on this Broncos helmet sure looks brown to me...

Probably from the same company that sold them the decals back in '62.

I have them on my computer -- I didn't really watch the re-airs because they were condensed and between the commercials and the NFL lockout updates they didn't have time to re-air the complete hours I guess
