1995 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS UNIFORM
Hello out there in gridiron jersey databaseland,
Does anyone know if the Jacksonville Jaguars uniforms from 1995 were a different shade or color than they are now? Was it a lighter shade? Please respond

Here's a 2009 article on the most recent change:

Unfortunately that article doesn't really help....
ColorWerx does indicate that the original teal was a bit lighter than today. Unfortunately it's not an official source, but they're usually pretty accurate. They show the 1995 teal with an RBG value of 0,103,127 and the current teal at 0,98,114. So, assuming that those values are correct, the original teal was a little bit lighter.

Well, if anything those RGB colors you posted are very similar, practically identical. But yes, a little lighter.
Not wanting to get too "under-the-hood" here, but Bill's RGB colors on the graphics are a little different: for 1995 (0,113,152) & for current (0,103,120). (They aren't identical, because I'd imagine he has to allow for what they will look like on a computer screen, which isn't always the same as in real life.)

I always saw the original coloring as more teal (actually a more greenish blue). When they altered the uniforms they went to a 'bluer' version as we show. The part that gets me is when I take a color capture from a photo and paste it on an image I'm creating, it doesn't always seem to match the photo making it really difficult to perfectly match.

oops, I just see now, I think I messed something up -- in my graphic I have Bill's colors labelled backwards, the 2011 is the bluer one and the 1995 is the slightly greener. Anyway, it's obvious by looking at the picture. What I meant was that Bill's are accurate, and I believe the ColorWerx RGB codes as posted above are off a little. ( I just mean the box where I labelled Bill's colors as "1995" and "2011" are backwards -- the four colors are correct as to the RGB code that each one is labelled as being.) Also, of the two photos in the graphic, the 2011 pic is from the rainy game at Carolina, so it may be wet and a little darker than normal.

No. It's an OK photo Rob. It still shows the new Jags' blue as being darker than the Carolina blue showing on the Panthers' sleeve.
To further explain the 'trials and tribulations' in the world of color accuracy, see my post (I think it's the second one in the thread) on the "Vikings throwbacks" thread. I did a rough cut mock up of why we can't always go with a swatch of color from a game photo using the Giants'purple..um...I mean blue.
