Chargers shoulder bolt

Great web site, it’s referenced on Jomo's SportsPicks Customizer Forum for guys who made custom McFarlane football figures.

I do have one question on the Chargers shoulder bolt and direction of the bolt.
Here is a picture from 1965 with the center of the bolt to the inside:



Here are some pictures after 1968 with center of the bolt to the outside.



Anyone tracking the differences? I have no idea when they changed.

Looks like it was 1967 when they made the switch, according to this excellent timeline on the Chargers website:

Here's a good one...October 15, 1961.

Jeff Kemp #15 has his bolt center on the outside, Ron Mix #74 has his bolt center on the inside.

What a mess!

We are simply using the most prevalent shoulder bolt design for each season. There are likely instances where the Chargers had center bolt up/center bolt down variations for each season. However, it was a GUD decision to just show the shoulder design used by most players for that particular season. We trust you understand.
