Resting Players Before Playoffs
I wanted to get a thread started about resting players prior to the playoffs, so it's not forgotten, especially with the possibility that team's start locking in playoff seeds (the Brewers could have the 1 seed locked up by the end of the weekend, to name one).
What does resting players do?
Keeps your team safe from losing ranking points in the simulation in games in which players are rested, for offense and/or defensive players (depends on who gets rested).
How do you rest players?
Post in this thread the key positions you'd like to rest starters for.
For example, you can say QB, RB, top WR on offense, and OLB, or CB, or whatever. What ever positions you'd like me to rest, I can take the starting players out of those positions for the upcoming game.
Will players get rusty?
Here's something I've been thinking about. Say, the Brewers lock up the #1 seed in the Western Conference this week, and then they rest starters through the end of the season. At that point, once the Brewers play their first playoff game, they would have had their starters resting for 4 weeks. You'd think players who don't play for an entire month would have some rust. I'm not sure how to handle that though, and I guess that's kind of a challenge in the NFL some times too (I always think of the Saints and Colts the 2009 season).
What do you all think about players getting rusty? And if resting for too long would cause that?

Re: Resting Players Before Playoffs
The Brewers will only be resting players during our final game vs Kansas City IF the 1 seed is secured before then.

Re: Resting Players Before Playoffs
The Bobcats have locked up the to seed in the Eastern Conference.
Will they have any interest in resting players to avoid injury / losing offensive/defensive rankings over the next two weeks?

With Carolina locked into the Eastern 3 seed, they will rest their starters on offense and defense against Atlanta
