Week 12
Here we are: Week 12 of the GSL kicks off this Saturday! At this point of the season, we already know what teams pretensions are; some of them are looking to clinch a wildcard spot, some are looking to bigger things like winning their divisions and maybe getting that sweet N1 conference seed, and many others are playing for pride or just for fun!

Some interesting matches with playoff implications are scheduled to happen this weekend. The 6-4 Baltimore Bluebirds face the also 6-4 Boston Bobcats; both teams are in Wild Card contention, and this Sunday’s matchup may serve as a tiebreaker later in the season to determine which team will join the playoffs.

Another interesting situation is the Western Conference Las Vegas-Oakland matchup; both teams would make the playoffs if the season ended today. Oakland is tied for leading the Pacific Division, sharing a 6-4 record with their Seattle rivals. On the other hand, Vegas is 7-3, racing against LA (8-3) for the West Division lead and possible playoff home field advantage. A win here would boost both teams chances of eventually hosting a playoff game in June.

Back to the Eastern Conference, the Birmingham Owls (8-2) are on their way to winning the Central Division, but this weekend they are scheduled to face their divisional rivals, the Louisville Lightning (6-4), a team that is seeking a wildcard spot. Maybe Louisville is inspired to spoil Birmingham's n1 Eastern Conference seed hopes? Or is Birmingham determined to make Louisville's path into the postseason a tough mission?

On Sunday Night Football, we are expecting to see one of the most exciting games of the season. The explosive New York City Hawks offense will face the mighty Salt Lake Trappers defense, and for sure, this will be a match for the ages!

Note: I’m not being biased about Portland; it surprises me that the software that I use to get these lines keeps picking them as favorites week after week. As I already said, I use real-life numbers and stats. In the NFL, the Portland counterpart actually made the playoffs last year as a Wild Card team, but in the Madden-based GSL simulation, they are the worst team in the league.

Not a very good showing today. Mathematically still alive but in a good division this year. Well there is always next year.

My congratulations to Miami, which managed to host a GSL game and a Formula 1 GP at the same time.

Yes, there was a Formula 1 race during game hours in the Hard Rock Stadium parking lot (the field served as a paddock)

Sucks we lost but we made 'em sweat in Salt Lake. Need to find a way to get our offense going on another level.

Looks like we're gonna be on the outside looking in when the playoffs come again.
