1990-92 Vikings

The Wilson "w" was placed in the middle of the big white stripe on the purple jerseys. Also do you have pic from 90, 91 or 92 showing the team using Russell jerseys the only company logo i have seen in pictures from 90, 91 and 92 is the Wilson "W"

This photo is incorrectly labeled as 12/31/91, but does show the Russell logo; neither the Vikes nor Redskins played that day, and the only time they played between 1990-92 was 10/25/92 and 1/2/93:

Vikings played the Redskins at Washington 12-31-93 that picture of Carl Lee looks like it was outside not inside the dome both 1992 season games were at the metrodome. so I think the Carl lee photo was taken 12-31-93 at washington

in the picture against the packers notice the packer player has a starter logo on his jersey according to the database the packers did not start wearing starter until 1992, so that picture may also be from 93 the Vikings played the packers in county stadium in 1993. Also Scottie Graham wore 31 for the Vikings and his first season was 1993. Rick Finney (who is white) wore 31 in 1990. The Vikings lost the 1990 game 10-24 and won the 1993 game 21-17 (which is the score given in the picture caption).

you should be able see on purple "w" in the middle of the white stripe on Fuad Reveiz and the holder's jersey i believe they only had the w on the left sleeve

1992 regular season game against Redskins. See "W" on the left sleeve. Don't see any "R" on jerseys

I notice the 1992 vikings page is now just wilson, what about 90 and 91? I don't believe the team or any team would have used two different companies during the same season. I maintain (unless shown otherwise with pictures of games that we know for certain where in 90 or 91) that the vikings jerseys were the following

1990-92 Wilson
1993 Russell
1994-98 Starter
1999-00 Puma
2001- Reebok

Actually, we do have 2 more cases of multiple manufacturer's logos on the same team in the same season.

Mako M created a thread not too long ago here that shows Seahawks wearing both "Wilson" W's and "Wilson/Staff" shields in the same season. What was odd was that some players had pants with blue W's while others wore pants with gold W's. Likewise some jerseys had W's and others had the shield.

Another example of this is the 1992 Jets. These 2 photo are from the same game in Anaheim against the Rams...

Note the orange trim bordered in white along the stands in the background in both photos.

Just found another example I remembered. This is a photo of Super Bowl XXVII where Jim Kelly ends up aggravating a knee injury (and is also the same picture that was shown here depicting Kent Hull was still wearing the pants with the blue-red-blue striping used for the Bills until 1989). Kelly happens to be wearing an Apex jersey (as opposed to Buffalo's normal Champion jersey).

thanks for the heads up on the jets, but is there any concert evidence the vikings used 2 from 90-91? I may be wrong but i have never found anything to suggest the vikings used Russell prior to 93.

Got a few 1990 trading cards I was given as a kid. Will look through them to see if I can get a good view of the manufacturer.

Went through the cards and the only Vikings one from that period I had was a 1991 Upper Deck Anthony Carter one that confirms the Wilson manufactured jersey.

if you watch the 1993 hilite film at 48seconds into you will see the play of Scottie graham vs the packer player that is depecited in the getty picture as being from (1990). So clearly the getty picture of scottie grahamn has the wrong year on it and was from 1993 the only season the vikings used russell as their jersey makers

1992 - Ws are being moved to center of large sleeve stripe on purple jerseys
1990-91 - we are going to go with the Wilsons only

so are you going to remove the note about some jerseys being made by Russell for 90-91?. Also the W in the middle of jerseys should apply for 90-91 as well thanks for your hard work
