Detroit Lions pants 1968 - 71.

I came across this today - the Lions helmets had the white center stripe but the pants were still just two blue stripes on silver/grey. The database shows white center stripes on the pants.

Also, I think the numbers on the jerseys without sleeve stripes are probably silver/grey, not white.

Hmmm. Not sure.
With the exception of the mud/snow game vs Minny, they all look like white in the middle to me.

Depending on how the light hits, sometimes they do look like they could be white, but I'm sure they are just two blue stripes on the grey/silver pants.

I'm going through a bunch more Detroit pics from the early 70's right now. I'm up to '73 and still haven't found a definitive white stripe on the pants yet.

Here's a good shot of the white stripe.



I'm not saying they went all the way to 1981 of course, I had trouble finding good photos of the Lions in the mid '70's. I do think the pants were just two blue stripes up through at least '74 though. Somewhere in between '75 - '80 they added the white center stripe.

That DET/LARams photo is definitely from 1972.
Check out the 1-year only S-W-B-W-S NW sleeve stripes!

Interesting...I'm looking at these photos again on a different computer. I can now see what you were seeing yesterday, those later pics do have the white stripe.

So I guess my original assertion was the correct one, grey only for 1968, white stripe starting in 1969.

Sorry for the confusion I caused.

I guess the good news is I don't need to get my eyes checked!

Yeah but on the downside you may need a new monitor!
