Missing Uniform Info on Preseason Games from 1950-Present?

I know we got this, but while looking at photos on a random facebook page "sportspaper.info" buried in the vistor comments i found this posted oin Nov 1, 2015

9/7/68 - NYJ v DET in CLE (double-header)
Previously we had a photo that only showed the Jets.
Now we can see it was color vs color...

Cardinals-Rams in Salt Lake City, September 8, 1951...

Based on a photo we received from Leo Strawn...


I set out to identify this game.

PFA does not list any preseason contests between DEN & KC for 1967 and 1968 - likely years this combo could have been worn by Denver.

HOWEVER...
It turns out that the teams did play each other on 7/24/67 in KC's 'fourth annual Grocery bowl.'

The newly re-christened Brooklyn (Dodgers) Tigers headed west to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to play the Ft. Warren Broncos...and lost. This would mark the last time that an NFL team would lose to a non-NFL team (not counting AFL/NFL games).

Despite suffering a $10 1-day membership, I found 2 photos from the 8/24/46 SD Union-Tribune for the 49ers vs. Dons game played in San Diego.
Of note...
SF is wearing red jerseys with serifed font numbers. (They went sans-serifs on their red jerseys during the regular season.)
LA is wearing red/blue "spider-striped" leather helmets. (They wore plain red helmets during the regular season.)
