GSL 2021 Week 8
Week 8 starts tonight, with the Keystones back on the Thursday night slate for the second week in a row, but on the road this time at Miami, who is coming off a rough loos after blowing a 17-0 4th quarter lead.
I don't have the time today to go through the betting lines, but hopefully I get to it tomorrow.
For tonight's game, I think the line is going to be somewhere around 9.5 with the Keystones as the favorites.
Week 8 will have the first of 3 international GSL games, with the Sockeyes taking on the Breakers in London at 2:30PM EDT this Sunday.
There are 4 teams on bye this week:
Jacksonville Captains
Louisiana Royals
Los Angeles Express
Oakland Icons

Tean Played well, But raelly no chance on a short week, and against one of the top teams in the league.
Just have to keep plugging away. And not quite half way through yet. Lots of football left!

And the division hasn't completely left the Sol in the dust quite yet. The top team in the East division only has 4 wins, so 2-5 isn't horrible.

Re: GSL 2021 Week 8
Time to round out the lines for week 8
This week is going to be a big week for many on the fence teams, with a lot of close matchups. 6 of 7 Sunday afternoon games are slated to be within a touchdown, with most games sitting to be decided between 3 points or less. Should be a good weekend to spectate.
Atlanta Flying Fleet @ Louisville Lightning 4/11 1:00PM
In the GSL Game of the Week, two south division rivals will square off, in a game that means more than the records may show. With a win, the 1-6 Flying Fleet will earn a second division win, which would give them the best record in divisional games in the South division, and a head to head win against the first place Lightning, setting them up to make a run at the division. For the Lightning, a win would help them separate themselves a little more in the South, and put them in a good spot as we get into the middle third of the season.
LSV -13

Cincinnati Knights @ Baltimore Bluebirds 4/11 1:00PM
The Knights are a team trending in the right direction, having won their last three games. They'll meet an evenly matched opponent in the Baltimore Bluebirds, who got a big comeback divisional win in Miami last week. This conference matchup could play big down the stretch of the season.
BAL -3
o/u 43
Albuquerque Atoms @ St. Louis Brewers 4/11 1:00PM
Despite their record, this Brewers team has more fight in them then people give them credit. They should be competitive in this game. The Atoms can get their season back to .500 with a win in St. Louis, and can get themselves back to competing in the Western conference.
ABQ -2

Seattle Sockeyes @ San Diego Breakers 4/11 2:30PM London, England
In the first international (well, intercontinental) matchup of the season, two West division rivals make the long trip to England, in what shapes up to be an exciting game with a good bit of offense. Both teams sit at 4-3, and a win means a leg up in the division, to inch closer to Oakland, and getting to a .500 record to help them compete in the Western Conference wild card race.

Toronto Terror @ Washington Stars 4/11 4:30PM
This matchup is one of many great ones on tap for week 8. The Terror, at 6-1 are still just trying to keep up with the unstoppable Keystones in the North division, which is extremely tight, with the 5-2 Stags right behind them. The Stars lost a big divisional game last week, sending them down to second place in the East. A win here would help the winner in the playoffs later, but the Stars need this win now before they worry about a Wild Card slot down the road.
WAS -3

Wisconsin Stags @ Norfolk Commanders 4/11 4:30PM
In another game with some big implications in the Eastern conference, the Stags who hold on to the last Wild Card slot take on the East divisions 1st place Commanders. A win for the Stags keeps them firmly in the drivers seat for their wild card slot, while a Commanders win would have big implications in their division race, and the wild card race, as they'd remain in first place in the East, and have a head to head tie break against the Stags.
NOR -5.5

Arizona Eagles @ San Antonio Texans 4/11 4:30PM
Could the Texans be the first team to take down the Eagles? Arizona will be fresh off a bye week, looking to continue their unbeaten record. A loss could put them only a half game ahead or the Cabras in the West division by the end of the week. The Texans are coming off a statement win in Oakland, as their defense played their best game of the season. A win for San Antonio keeps them in first place in the Central division, and would get them a key conference win if they need it down the road. This game is slated to be close, with the Eagles only two point favorites.
ARZ -2

Colorado Cabras @ Dallas Diesel 4/11 8:15PM
Sunday night's matchup takes us to Dallas, as the Cabras, coming off a bye, take on the Diesel. There's a good deal at steak for each team in this one. With a win, Colorado can put themselves in range in the West division, if the Texans can take down the Eagles. For Dallas, this game is becoming a must win, as their season may get too far away from them as the losses stack up. This should be another close week 8 game, as Dallas comes into this one as very slim half point favorites.
DAL -0.5

Las Vegas Outlaws @ Memphis Comets 4/12 8:15PM
Week 8 concludes with the Outlaws headed to Memphis to take on the Comets. The Comets are hitting their stride and living up to their potential in the past couple weeks, and they hope to keep things rolling at home Monday night.

Re: GSL 2021 Week 8
I think the simulations have stopped updating. LSV-ATL has been stuck at 4 seconds left for nearly 10 minutes now.
Edit: It's just the Louisville game that's not updating at this point.

Was this at the end of the 2nd quarter, or the end of the game? Sometimes the NFL data I have doesn't have a reported time of 0 seconds at the end of the second quarter, so you may see something like, 4 seconds left, for a long time, because the game is actually at halftime. Fortunately, this will never happen on a scoring play, so if you see this at the end of the 2nd or 4th quarter, assume it's halftime, or the game has ended, with the current score.
I'm not sure that this is something I can fix, because it's based on inconsistencies in the NFL game data, and there's too much data there for me to go through and find all these weird situations.

It was at the end of the 2nd. It's fine, I think now I know to expect it from now on.Austin Snelick wrote:NeauXone wrote:I think the simulations have stopped updating. LSV-ATL has been stuck at 4 seconds left for nearly 10 minutes now.
