Independent Teams

Now that the Peddle independent teams have reached a nice even number of 6, we have decided to compete amongst ourselves for the 2021 PIFOG Independence Cup this fall.
Rules to follow, but each team will play every other team once on the road and at home. Top 4 make the playoffs.
NOTE : My teams will continue to play against other independent teams , and will consider invitations to join with other independent teams in various leagues if there are any. This is an additional competition among the Peddle teams.

The following teams will compete :
- Ottawa Cupcakes
- Philadelphia Union
- Memphis Golden Hawks
- Toledo Snipers
- Wichita Arrows
- Indiana Blaze

Rob I can generate results myself with a random number generator if you don`t have time to do the simulations on these games.

Haha stay tuned for a new logo for the PIFOG group. it could be PEE FOG or maybe PI ( PIE) FOG. I know the anticipation is burnin you up Commish Holecko. I`ll post it here in the next day or so I hope.

Maybe both. Only Holecko knows for sure. Bad beef jerky is tough on the guts, maybe that`s what he means. The Korean BBQ stuff is great though.

We got to get on the Commish ... he hasn't released any results to the press for us to get them out to you... I don't know what's going on with the Union Cup or the Champions League! Somebody needs to get ahold of him and ask him what's up... I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this.

Introducing a new team from the 92 Ownership Group: the Gitche Gumee (Lake Superior) Gales! This team has no home stadium and instead barnstorms around the Great Lakes area. They are available to be adopted by any owner needing a Central League team, or else they're open to play exhibitions against other unaffiliated squads or join an independent minor league.

A word to the wise, any independent team owners out there if you are going to schedule Gitche Gumee, I'd try to get them in September or October. When the gales of November come, they can be a real bear. Their head coach is a chap named Edmund Fitzgerald and the defensive coordinator is this old guy that calls his blitzes by saying, "fellas it's been good to know ya", and the front seven all meet at the quarterback like they got a death wish. And that speedy wide out they got, he's a real Light Foot, he can't be covered!

The next Independent team from the 92 Ownership Group has been revealed: the Redding Gold Rush! Their status is just like the Gales (free to claim for DII, otherwise I'll use them) and will be the second team in the Ninety-two Union of Independent Teams (more on that in a later post)! That being said they are also open to play any other Independent team.

With the announcement that Division II will begin play on September 18, the Central League's Duluth Dragons would like to invite the Independent Gitche Gumee Gales to play a game this Saturday, September 11, at 12 noon Central time. If accepted, this game will count as a non-league game for Duluth. All Division II teams are permitted to schedule non-conference games against other teams, independent or in other leagues as they wish this weekend, as well as any other weekends that do not have league games scheduled.

We gladly accept this offer! I'll see if Redding also has plans for this weekend.

Any of the PIFOG teams are available to play any time...anywhere....even though we are knee deep in the Independence Cup competition....fatigue is not a factor this is imaginary football. Log into the PIFOG thread and take your pick. We are 6 weeks into the season so all teams are ready.

Houston would like to extend an invitation to the Wichita Arrows.
Scottdale would like to play Gitchee Gumee, if possible.
Idaho Falls would like to take on Redding.

Wichita accepts the invitation. I will leave it up to Houston to decide their uni and then I will post Wichita`s.

Roma Zona Rossa will play the Gitchee Gumee Gales at 1:30 ET.



And the Oakland Icons will host the Redding Gold Rush at 8:30 ET.



Both will be played with the Icons' normal home field.


Additionally, the Gales and Gold Rush are open to any barnstorming offers before the 92 Winter League begins (in which any independent teams are open to join).
