Need help with logo

So I'm having trouble creating a good logo, would any body mind helping me out?

What general ideas do you have as a starting point?
Your team will be the Houston Halos this season, right?
And do you have general colors in mind?

I might not have time to get a full logo down, but I can certainly draw out some ideas on paper.

Do you have other design ideas, or need help with wordmarks, or uniforms also? Or just the logo?

so I have made some drafts for my logo and uniforms. also yes it is the Houston halos. The Font I'm using is kenyan coffee

The first idea that popped into my head was pretty similar to this, so I'll see what I can whip up.

Okay, here's what I cam up with.

You can mess with the colors as you see fit, but I chose the Oilers old powder blue and red shades, because they are just so beautiful, and very much tied to Houston football. The halo itself is more of a metallic shade of gold, as it fit better with the other colors.

Oh, and what you want the dominant color scheme to be (red, blue, gold?), and custom name and number if you want that. That'll be enough to get me started with ideas. I already have a good helmet idea.

Wow "Love Ya Blue!" Strikes again. The original template was one of the best in the NFL. Ths would be a reat tribute to the history of the original Houston Oilers!

I totally agree with you!!!

The Houston Oilers are (I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before) my favorite franchise in the history of the NFL, more than my beloved Cleveland Browns, and paying tribute to the Oilers and the city of Houston is a great idea! Great job Frank! Super excited to see what these unis look like.

I came up with this as a start
Not actually sure what to do with the helmet colors. They just don't seem to match well enough with the uniformm. I used more blue an gold in the design, with red as an accent. I'm curous what other uniform ideas people have. This might be one of my weakers points in the design process (why I have a pretty basic uniform for the Buffaloes). Plus the kids finish up school for the year today, so it'll be Christmas crazy time until the new year.

wow, that design is very similar to how I imagined it. I think the blue helmet is a great choice. I love the helmet logo. thank you so much! I think I'm going to start with only 3 or 4 uniforms this year: a blue, white, red, and either a vintage or city uniform. also i forgot to add that the number i wanted to have was 7

I should be able to start the process of transferring these over to my full sized templates then, if this is the design you want to go with. Not sure what the number font is though, or the wordmark font.

Numbers and wordmark are Kenyan Coffee, which is what Ethan had used in his original logo design.

I've started transferring the uniforms over to my templates.
Here is what I have so far, based on what's been said.
Ethan, you mentioned the alternate jersey. If  you have a design or ideas, let me know.



For the red uniform, I just did the blue one, but with a red jersey. Let me know if you want changes to this.

There are two other orders of business.

1. Wordmark
2. Field

For the wordmark, I could just use Kenyan Coffee, as you planned to, and base it off the jersey number style Frank used (with an outline and some gold on the inside of the letters), or you can send me any ideas you had.

For the field, I'll need you to send me designs, or just describe what you want, and I could put that together pretty quick.

Here would be an example of the wordmark on all team colors, based on the numbers Frank made, which was based on your original logo (Kenyan Coffee font, with an outline and gold inner trim)

Since I have not heard anything back, I'm going to use the last wordmark I posted.
If I don't get some sort of direction on the fields, I'm going to put them together and put them up tomorrow, as we are a good bit past the deadline at this point.
