**Week 12 of the Gridiron Simulation League (GSL) Highlights**

In the upcoming Week 12 of the GSL, the spotlight is on several key matchups that could significantly impact the playoff picture.

The Boston Bobcats (9-1) are set to visit the New York CityHawks (5-5). Currently leading the East Division of the Eastern Conference with a comfortable margin, the Bobcats are still dreaming of securing the number 1 seed in the conference and home-field advantage in the playoffs. Their main competitors for this position are the undefeated Carolina Reapers (10-0). A victory here could keep Boston in the fight for the top seed. For New York, a win would provide a much-needed boost in their race for a possible wildcard spot.

In the late window on Sunday, we have an interesting game between two teams with playoff aspirations. The Washington Stars (7-3) will travel to the west coast to face the Seattle Sockeyes (5-5). At the moment, Seattle sees the Pacific Division title of the Western Conference as out of reach, with the division-leading Vancouver Bears (8-2) holding a comfortable lead. However, the Sockeyes are in a wild and unpredictable race for a wildcard spot, with several teams such as the Salt Lake Trappers (6-4), the Arizona Eagles (5-5), and their division rivals, the Portland Samurais (5-5), vying for postseason spots. Every victory at this stage is valuable. Meanwhile, Washington still dreams of a possible division title, despite being a few games behind the Boston Bobcats (9-1).

Finally, in the Sunday Night Football, we have a game that could be a preview of the Gridiron Bowl, with an epic showdown between the Houston Halos (9-1), currently the number 1 seed in the Western Conference, and the Louisiana Royals (8-2). This game between two extremely competitive teams has the potential to be one of the best of the season.

Still a ton of teams still in it for that 6/7th seed in the Western Conference, with 9 teams all within at most a game and a half from the 6th seed.
Should make for a good finish to the season, if things stay this close. As we saw last year, if you make the playoffs in the GSL, you have a chance of going deep, or pulling off a big upset.

Huge win for us against a legit contender to really climb back into things. Now just a game behind the Eagles, who we beat, so that's a huge tiebreaker.

Looks like it was a big week for the Lightning. The move into the 2 spot with the win and Boston loss. Louisiana loss moves them a game and a half up in the division as well, and the top seed also lost, putting them a game back.

The Lightning seem to have been a little under the radar so far, being so tight in their own division. But other than their loss in week 1, and their close loss to 10-1 Houston, the Lightning have been dominating teams, winning by no less than 10 points, and have scored 188 more points than they have given up this season. Last season, the highest net points was 175. Best we've seen was 282 net points by 17-1 Boston in 2022, so not sure Louisville can catch that, but if they keep blowing teams out, they should get to at least 225.
