2022 Team Rosters

Here is the roster for the upcoming 2022 Washington Stars for reference in the case that gameday stats or Madden gameplay is involved.

Since this thread has been started, I would like to say that I've been thinking of ways that team rosters could be integrated into the play by play, and then later, individual stats recorded.
The biggest issue with rosters, is that teams completely change from year to year, at least in the way I assign team strengths. So, a team that has QB John Smith one year, could have an MVP year, but the next, be the worst QB in the league. I'd rather go into each year with completely new team rankings, so that every team can go into the new season knowing they could have a chance at winning a title. That said, you all can do your rosters from year to year however you'd like.

I think I'd like to create some kind of editable or sharable google sheet to the league that has standard formatting for rosters, so that when I get a roster for a team, I can very easily download the data as a CSV file, then create INSERT statements for a database table. That could then be used for me to randomly select players to insert into the play by play. This was something I was planning to have completed by the 2023 season, but as this season progresses, it may be something I'm working on. The first task for me is coming up with a schema design for a team roster database, then I can share a standard spreadsheet template.

Here is a link to a roster template.

We'll go with 50 man rosters, that includes spots for KR/PR. The returner positions should be a player already on the roster above (like a WR or RB).

Please keep all the position designations and depth columns as is, and make sure the number column is just the number (i.e. 17 and not #17).
There is an example roster for the Outlaws in the other tab. Try to follow the same format, since I need the specific format to get rosters correctly into a database.

To make things easiest, google sheets works great. You can link your roster like Patrick has done, and I can get player data from there.

That makes things a LOT easier. That'll just mean a day of marathoning Create-a-Team on Madden 08 and handpicking good-sounding names.

Was that the QB out of Louisville? Because I think it was that guy who gave me pause about the Rosters when this came up.

As I'm working on my roster, are there any kind of numbering requirements for different positions? Are we going NFL numbering system from pre2021 season, or the new format or something else?

You can use the new NFL numbering format if you'd like. We can use that as number guidelines.

The KR and PR positions must be players who have a full time position on the roster, like WR, DB, RB, etc. I have the Lightning roster in, but not returners. Just pick me two players already on the roster.

I have access now, although, same issue as the Lightning roster.
I need the kick returner and punt returner positions to be players already on the roster (so a WR, DB, RB, etc.). It's just the way I have things stored in the roster database I have set up. And, with most teams, the returners are always someone who do have another position designation, even if they don't play in the game at that position often.

I want to make a separate reply for this, just to clear this up.

The kick returner (KR) and punt returner (PR) positions MUST be filled by players already on the roster with another designated position, like WR, CB, RB, etc. Otherwise, I can not add specific KR and PR position players to the roster.

Louisville and San Antonio must give me existing players on the roster to fill these positions.

Sorry, I copied the roster wrong, leaving the returners from a different team on the sheet I used to load, giving me players not on your roster. Easy fix for me.
I may have done the same for San Antonio, but I see know correct players in the returner spots for them as well.

Fixes will be reflected on the site shortly.

I don't really know how to best handle that yet. I might just leave it up to individual owners to handle who's on their roster from year to year, juts to make things easier.

To have in a spreadsheet, get the CSV file, and you can upload it to a google sheet. Really helpful.

I don't have Microsoft Office, but, if you save the spreadsheet as a CSV file, and then email it as a CSV file to me, I can load that into google sheets.

Is there anyone who would like me to auto generate a roster for them? Just let me know, and I'll do it.
By the start of the preseason, I'd like to have rosters for each team, so once we get to February, I'll auto generate a roster for whoever doesn't have one at that point.

If it's possible, I would like to have a auto generated rooster, the only note that I take is about the new RB1, if it's possible give him the 29 and name him as Derrick Dickerson, a odd to one of my favorite players.

There should be a "share" button up on the top right if you're on desktop. At the bottom of the popup it should say "change to anyone with the link" and you should be able to paste the URL here.
