The 1945 champs had the squared top #1's.

Interesting here - the lockerroom after winning the NFL Championship vs Washington 12/16/45 - the yellow jerseys feature two different style #1's.

Apparently they carried forward to Los Angeles as well: Rams vs San Francisco 11/11/50

You can see Woody is still wearing a Cleveland Ram jersey cuz the war patch on the left sleeve is fairly evident.

So are we talking 1945 (as Cleveland) - 1951 (or 1952?) for the different style of 1s?

I believe it's '45-'47, '50-'53. I'm unsure of '48 and skip '49 with the red jerseys.

Well, 1948 appears to be the 'slightly' angled tops on the ones.

Couldn't find anything conclusive for the 1949 season.
However I found this doozy for November 12, 1950, for a Rams @ Packers game.
In the uppermost photo, notice running back Glenn Davis (#41) with the typical Rams style "1"

Hard to make out but I'm pretty sure the Ram at the far right (#71) is sporting the typical Rams' style 1 as well in this game on December 2, 1951.

With new jerseys with numbers outlined in white, this photo from the preseason shows the typical Rams' style 1 again - this time on #81 Dick "Night Train" Lane in the back left.

Game was played August 28, 1953 in Los Angeles.


This brings us full circle basically since we already show 1953 with the typical Rams' style 1s.

So 1945-47, 1948 needs the slightly angled top on the 1s, skip 1949 (the yellow/red year), and 1950-52 that need changed.
