Week 8 - 2023

We need this one to get ack on track. 4 point favorite might be misleading. Jackaonville has been good all year, so we got to be focussed.

Lol, I still love that we are still not favorites after proving the lines wrong again and again. But hey, I love winning.

Lets gooo. An easy win against Miami. Another week and we prove the lines wrong, lol. Birmingham is 7-1 on the season.

The lines are made based on the real life based NFL rosters and numbers, as far as I know, the GSL situations run on Madden NFL. Sometimes the virtual teams may differ from the real life ones.


On paper Portland should be a team that could've be on the playoff / Wildcard race like it's NFL counterpart, but in the GSL world they are 0-7


On the other hand in the real NFL the Birmingham counterpart was a very mid team in 2022 but in the GSL they are one of the best teams in the league

I'll confirm, all this is correct, and honestly, at the beginning of the season, I would never have thought Birmingham would be 7-1, and Portland would be 0-7. It would have been more likely to be the other way around. The simulation engine can be weird sometimes though. We see it favors good offenses, and doesn't account for other attributes. It does at least make the league fun for me to follow, because even though I have all the insider information, I still don't know whose going to win each week, because sometimes, it doesn't make any sense. A couple weeks ago, I basically tried to prove no team would ever score 60 points, and them my own Vegas Outlaws put 66 on the board, so it's really just random chance in this league. I could even see a 7 seed taking the title at some point. All comes down to luck I guess.

So basically, Birmingham is lucky that they are 7-1. Well, I will take that luck any day.
