Week 15 - 2023

Week 15

As we approach the end of the regular season, the playoff scenarios are getting set; no direct head-to-head matchups are scheduled to happen this week; a lot of eliminated teams are playing for pride; and the majority of the winning record teams are playing against under.500 teams.

The highlight of the week is the Sunday early afternoon game featuring the New York City Hawks and the Boston Bobcats. With a simple win here, New York clinches the East Division title; on the other hand, Boston has a chance to spoil the division title celebration at the Meadowlands and keep their wildcard hopes alive.

On Monday, we have another edition of the Memorial Day classic. We are expecting a close matchup between the Dallas Regulators, a team that, despite being eliminated from the Wildcard competition, still has chances of a playoff breath via division, and the Atlanta Aliens, the worst team in the Eastern Conference. A win here for Dallas may give them another chance to possibly host a playoff game in June.

I don't understand how Birmingham keeps winning to be honest. At some point I was thinking their luck would run out, but the simulation gods (well, the simulation program) overvalues the NFL team Birmingham is mapped to.

It's not luck, it's skill . But yea, I do think we are getting lucky on some of these games. I think the program just wants an underdog story.

Ready for that crisp 5 game winning streak. All we have to do is in the words of Al Davis, JUST WIN BABY!

Won 3 out of our last 4. Hoping we can ride some real momentum into the postseason for once...

Surprisingly it's not scorigami in the NFL, it happened once back in 1957.


For those who don't know:
Scorigami is a concept thought up by Jon Bois. It is the art of building final scores that have never happened before in NFL history. Due to the unique nature of how points are scored in (American) Football, where it is impossible to score 1 point on its own, as well as the rarity of the 2 point safety and 8 point touchdown and 2 point conversion, there are a lot of scores that are possible, but have never happened.
