CBFL Season 3

For the CBFL’s third and final season I have something special planned. Feeling inspired by Appleman’s XFL concepts the CBFL will expand with 6 teams for winter 2022. Those teams are the 6 AAFC (the league where the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers started out in) teams that didn’t make it to the NFL: The original Baltimore Colts (the AAFC Colts and NFL Colts are not the same franchise), Brooklyn Dodgers, Buffalo Bisons, Chicago Rockets, Los Angeles Dons, and Miami Seahawks. The AAFC teams will only be present for this season.

The Chattanooga River Monsters and Columbus Ironmen will not be returning this season therefore the CBFL will be played by 10 teams this season in either 9 or 10 games this season depending on which simulator I use. The Dallas Outlaws, New Orleans Lions, Providence Steamrollers, and Sacramento Scorpions will return this season. Like the Los Angeles Coyotes, Chattanooga and Columbus are available for other owners to claim.

Baseplates for each team

Baltimore and Brooklyn. In their history the Brooklyn football Dodgers wore two different uniform sets: black and gold as well as Dodger Blue and white so I gave them gold and Dodger blue uniforms.

Miami is the only team getting a complete overhaul with their colour scheme.

There will be 10 games this season (round robin with one opponent twice for 10 games)

Due to time constraints I have not been able simulate the games for week 1 last week so I’ll post the scores on Friday as well as the week 2 schedule and uniform matchups

I don’t anticipate my schedule freeing up for a 10 game season anytime soon therefore I’m only going to do 3 games and a championship with Providence, Sacramento, Dallas, and New Orleans. The champion this season will play the Atlanta Aliens in a Hall of Fame game before the GUD preseason starts.

In honour of Mike Leach’s recent passing the Dallas Outlaws will host their next home game at Texas Tech. The CBFL-Atlanta Aliens hall of fame preseason game on December 31st will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville Mississippi.
