2024 GSL Schedule

I'm currently working on the 2024 schedule, now that I know the divisions and teams.
For the 2023 season, I mapped teams to teams in the NFL for 2013 to create the schedule.
For 2024, I will do the same with the 2014 NFL schedule. All teams will map to the same divisions, but, different NFL teams based on standings.
For the Eastern conference, all teams are in the same division, so team mapping and scheduling is based on how the GSL team finished in its own division.
For the Western conference, for divisions that have a change in teams, opponents based on standings are based on last year's conference standings, not division standings.

I have all the team's mapped, and got lucky that Birmingham is home week 1, and New York is home week 15.

The first leaks in the schedule, are:
Birmingham will host New York to kickoff the season Thursday February 15th.
New York will host Baltimore for the Memorial Day Classic Monday May 28th.

Next leak is Rose Bowl Kickoff related.

There are three eligible games for the Rose Bowl Kickoff this season (Western Conference team hosting an Eastern Conference team in Week 1)

Boston @ Seattle
Louisiana @ Colorado
Wisconsin @ Minnesota

The Louisiana @ Colorado game is out, since Colorado was in the Rose Bowl Kickoff last season.

That leaves Boston @ Seattle and Wisconsin @ Minnesota.
Right now, I'm leaning Wisconsin @ Minnesota, since that is more of a regional rivalry, even though both teams are in a different conference. It takes a home game away from Minnesota, which can kind of be seen as a penalty for relocating from Dallas this season. Boston @ Seattle on the other hand is more of a true West vs East game, so it does have that going for it.
In the end, it may even come down to which game has the best field design.

If this is true for the opening kickoff matchup, it will be great. A rematch of the Eastern Championship game.

Game times are not yet set. By default they are all listing as 1:00PM the Sunday of that current game week.

I'm going to keep the the Rose Bowl Kickoff fields consistent from year to year.
But I'd love to see some concepts!

Hi Austin , are there any plans to have any regular season games in Europe/ South America this year ? The Toronto Terror have never participated in one of these, but I think I would like to have my team involved in one of these games this year. I have a special uni set in mind should these games go ahead . Thanks

All game times have been set.
Regular season schedule is official.

I based game times on time zone of the home team in a lot of cases.
Tried to be as even as possible with primetime and special games.
There are a ton of flex games at the end of the season. There are 13 total flex games between week 11 and 17, so more opportunities for prime time games for some teams.

Only thing left is the preseason schedule.

Preseason schedule is now up.
All preseason games will be within conference, against teams your team will not be playing in the regular season.

UFL and GSL schedule conflicts
Since the UFL schedule came out today, I was checking to see if the Owls had any conflicts. And I saw none, so Austin, you did a great job with the Owl's schedule. Now, I haven't checked the Memphis Demons schedule and Detriot schedule for any conflicts.

I haven't seen any game times posted yet.
I was looking up DCs schedule earlier. Hoping to find another Saturday or Sunday day game to go to this year.

I think for GSL purposes though, since the GSL schedule is set in advance of the UFL, in our alternate reality, the UFL would have avoided scheduled GSL games, so I will not be rescheduling GSL games where there are conflicts with the UFL.

Gotcha. I'm just making sure if we were doing that or not.
