1966 Houston Oilers helmet

Can anyone tell me if the logo on the helmets for the Oilers in 66 did or did not have a red outline around the derrick? The helmet project site does not have a white only border version but sportslogos.net does. This website doesn't have the white only. I'm having trouble finding real pictures but there are pictures of the helmet itself without the white border. I think I'm going crazy. Anybody have a clue on this? Thanks for any help in advance.

Definitely a red outline.

Found a pic this morning on Fanbase but the caption said it was in a game with the Dolphins in '69. I tried to add the link to it here but I'm too new and ned to wait seven days to post links and pics. But if you go to the Fanbase website and sift through the pics on the 1966 Houston Oilers, there is a player falling to the ground but pulling the sleeve of the Oilers' jersey. It's a really good side shot of the helmet.

What do you think? To me it looks as if I'm seeing the thickness of the decal and not a definitive red line.

Well the Titans official website appears to agree with you. I also believe my eyesight is getting worse as I get older. I guess my opinion may be a little biased as well because if there isn't a red outline, I get to buy another helmet.
