GSL Game of The Week Appearances

Having set the GSL Game of The Week matchups through Week 15, we have now had 21 of the 24 franchises appear at least once.  

Only Los Angeles, St. Louis and Wisconsin have yet to appear on the GSL GOTW.  While the Sunday Night Football flex schedule gets first dibs on any given Sunday Afternoon game, the GSL Game of the Week can select any game that is not scheduled for a primetime slot.  We would like to try to schedule the Express, Brewers and Stags in the final four weeks of the regular season, however we also are going to try to cover games with some playoff implications.  Below are these teams' Week 16-19 schedule, please comment below with any input on which games (these teams or otherwise) you would like to see on the Game of the Week for Weeks 16-19.

Note the Week 14 & 15 games are still subject to change if either of those games gets flexed into Sunday Night Football.

Week 3 - Miami at Norfolk
Week 4 - Pennsylvania at Toronto
Week 5 - Washington at Arizona
Week 6 - Oakland at Dallas

Los Angeles Express (4-7)

Week 16 - vs Louisville (6-6)  currently scheduled for SNF
Week 17 - vs Seattle (5-7)
Week 18 - at Memphis (8-3)
Week 19 - at San Diego (5-7)

St. Louis Brewers (2-9)

Week 16 - at Memphis (8-3) Thursday Night Football - ineligible for GOTW
Week 17 - at Arizona (8-3)  currently scheduled for SNF
Week 18 - vs Oakland (7-4) Monday Night Football - ineligible for GOTW
Week 19 - at Memphis (8-3)

Wisconsin Stags (6-5)

Week 16 - at Cincinnati (7-4)
Week 17 - vs Baltimore (6-5)
Week 18 - at Atlanta (1-11)
Week 19 - at Toronto (7-4)

It looks like there's three good options for the Stags, while only one good option for St. Louis, and the best option for both Los Angeles and St. Louis is Memphis' last two games.

So after SNF selects their flex schedule game, we'll choose ours for the Game of the Week.  If we aren't able to select any of these three teams, we'll make sure they get featured next season for sure.

With the league selecting the Cincinnati-Washington game for Sunday Night Football, it confirms that San Diego-Seattle will remain the Strontium-90 GSL Game of the Week on the Sportpuck Network in Week 15.

In order to make things simpler,  The Sportpuck Network would like to ask the GSL League office to select for us the Game Of The Week for the remaining four weeks of the season,  at the same time that they finalize the SNF selection, with the goal of having the league showcase it's most competitive matchups.   (As well as trying to select the teams that haven't appeared yet if possible, but that's a secondary goal)

We feel it is appropriate to let that decision be made at the league level in tandem with the Sunday Night Football selection.

Works for me. Wisconsin vs Cincinnati seems like a good game of the week pick for week 16, and it gets the Stags a Game of the Week for this season. I'm going to put that in now.

With St. Louis getting a game of the week game in week 19, that means all teams would have appeared in at least one GSL Game of the Week in the 2021 season.
