GSL 2021 Week 19

One more week to go in the GSL season, and we've still got 8 out of 12 games next week that will mean something to at least one team in the game.

Here's the odds calculated for week 19 for the remaining teams


Miami's win has put them in a really good position, while Oakland's loss likely puts them on the road divisional weekend.

At least we have a small chance haha

What was really odd is My team (Miami) was really bad in the beginning. A really good defense but little to no offense. Now with one week to go, we are in a good spot to get into the playoffs. With one of the strongest defenses in the league. And just enough offense to win games. That is all one can ask for.

Yeah, it's kind of odd looking at Miami's wins. They beat all the right teams, but not by much, and haven't scored much. There biggest win is by 14 points over Jacksonville, but other than that, it's all games decided within 4 points.
Then, compare that to a team like Baltimore, who has the same record, but has won 6 games by at least a touchdown, and has even given Pennsylvania their only loss. All of but one Baltimore loss was by greater than 4 points.

I really didn't think Miami was going to come back and be in this position, once they were down at 5-8, coming off a divisional loss to Washington. But, hey, that's good for this league, in that games are not completely predictable.

Yeah, Miami came out of nowhere. Going from being mediocre to one win away from a trip to Cincinnati, did not expect this at all.

Eastern Conference #5 seed race

Lots of different scenarios in the west, since none of these teams play each other this week.

Should be a good slate of games, with the Eastern conference being finalized in the 1:00 games, and the Western conference being finalized in the 4:30 games.

Wild finish to the season for the Eastern Conference, as multiple teams had a shot at a playoff sport today, and the least likely of teams comes out on top.

With Miami losing to Norfolk, who for the second week in a row had a strong outing with their backups in the game, pulled off the upset.
Miami's loss opened the door to other teams. Wisconsin was the next team up, but their division rivals, Toronto had one last good game in them for the year, and sent the Stags packing.
With the Sol and Stags losing, Baltimore was the next team in line for a shot at the playoffs, but it was their opponent, the Washington Stars, who needed a 5 way tie at (9-9) in order for them to come out on top as the Eastern Conference Wild Card team.

The Stars will play the Cincinnati Knights next Saturday evening.

As for the other early games, Louisville was able to beat Jacksonville, even with starters sitting out, as they finish the year on a 4 game win streak, and with some confidence.



The Western Conference games are underway, as the entire conference is yet to have playoff seeds decided. Should be a great finish to the 2021 GSL regular season.

A great ending of the regualr season. (Except for my team. Some heads are going to roll for that fiasco!) I can not wait to see how the west shapes up

Seeding in the West has all wrapped up.

Arizona has won the West division with a win today.
Memphis has the 2 seed after their win today.
Oakland, win or lose today would have been in the 3 seed, but win would always be preferred.
San Antonio with the win keeps the 4 seed, and gets the home game next Saturday in the Wild Card game.
Colorado, finishes the season with a win, but still remains behind San Antonio in the standings.
