Canadian Bacon Football League Summer 2022

The Canadian Bacon Football League is returning in May of 2022 and I have some announcements.

Firstly the league will run on a different simulator than the one used in the winter season. The lowest number of teams I can put is 6 on that simulator and the season will be 14 games.

Since the simulator forces me to use 6 teams, the CBFL will expand with two teams: the Los Angeles Coyotes and Chattanooga River Monsters. These teams are in their infancy design wise. In terms of the wider UWFFL, the Coyotes and River Monsters will be independent. The other four teams will be the teams who participated in the winter season (Dallas, CSKA Moscow, Providence, and Sacramento).

The summer season will also see teams use their home fields for the first time. The stadiums are as follows.

CSKA: VEB Arena for regular season, Luzhniki Stadium for playoffs
Chattanooga: Finley Stadium
Dallas: Gerald J. Ford Stadium
Los Angeles: Banc of California Stadium
Providence: Brown Stadium
Sacramento: Hornet Stadium

The long awaited and rather rough CSKA redesign (definitely needs to be refined a bit, in fact I'll need help removing the GSL logos, making the logos on the helmet and numbers look nicer, and inserting a camouflage pattern on the helmets and pants)

The Los Angeles Coyotes are up next though I don’t plan on starting work on them until Mid March once I come back from vacation

With the current situation going on the CBFL has opted not to play road games in Russia. As such CSKA Moscow’s roster will be relocated to Columbus Ohio and operate as the Columbus Ironmen. CSKA Moscow will still operate as a La Lega franchise and will return to the CBFL at some point along with more European teams. Think of this as the CBFL’s version of the Browns-Ravens relocation story.

I tried going for the old New York Jets sleeve stripes, the team’s simplistic design is supposed to reflect the sudden move to Columbus.

How CBFL schedules work
The six teams are divided into two divisions of three teams, the divisions are as follows
East: Chattanooga, Columbus, Providence
West: Dallas, Los Angeles, Sacramento
Each team plays their two division mates 4 times each for 8 games and each team from the other division twice for 6 games. In all this makes for 14 games. Games will take place on Fridays and Saturdays with one Friday night game and two Saturday afternoon games. As such week one will commence on Friday April 29th and the championship game will take place on Saturday August 20th making for a 14 game regular season, a division final, a bye week before the championship game and the championship game.

The CBFL championship will now be known as the Super Cup and Super Cup 2 is slated to be held at RFK Stadium as the final sporting event to be played at said stadium. However in real life RFK is going to be demolished in 2022 and should the stadium be demolished before August 20th 2022, Super Cup 2 will move to Navy Marine Corps memorial stadium.

Oh and if Rob comes back and resumes the UWFFL these plans will be scrapped and the CBFL will be an independent league just like the PIFOG

If you do figure out a way to run the CBFL season using All-Pro Football 2K8, I'd be interested in knowing what you did. I tried to do that with the GSL early on, but couldn't figure out what I'd need to do. Would love to have a way to stream "live games".

Right now I’m researching what kind of equipment I would need to do live streams with my PS3 as well as any mods to the game that can help. The initial plan is to have Friday night games be live streamed and eventually have the whole league switch over to 2K

All games will take place on a generic field since I don’t know how to design fields and some teams like Columbus and Los Angeles share a stadium with an MLS team during the season and the four other teams use college stadiums which are going to have the college branding by the end of the season so it’s just easier this way.

I’m going to post the standings during the week and I’ll post the next power rankings midway through the season

For week 4 the Dallas Outlaws and Sacramento Scorpions will have their home games take place at another stadium within their respective states in order to build a regional fan base. Dallas will host Providence at Texas A&M’s Kyle field and Sacramento will host Los Angeles at Fresno State’s stadium. Providence’s next home game will take place at Gillette Stadium. The three expansion teams (Chattanooga, Columbus, and Los Angeles) will not play home games away from their home cities this season.
