1951 missing game photos - ***CLOSED***

With the season winding down, I thought it would be good to start working again on our remaining gaps...
Here's what's left of 1951. Remember, we need solid photographic proof.

What we are unsure of is in bold...

9/30 (D) – Wash @ DET; (silver/blue helmet?)
10/8 (D) – NYY @ DET; (silver/blue helmet?)
12/16 (D) – NYG @ NYY

I'll have to go back and check, but in looking at the 12/17 New York Herald Tribune, a photo shows that both teams are wearing dark jerseys.

1/20 EDIT: (p.22 of the NY Herald-Tribune) Given that the Yanks' only dark jersey was blue, it seems unlikely that the Giants would also wear blue--but I can't really tell if the Giants jersey is lighter.

The Giants still wore red jerseys in 1951, so I would certainly think that this was a Giants red vs. Yanks blue in this case.

Week 1 Washington@ DETROIT was a day game on Sunday 9/30 and was silver helmets.

Week 2 NYY @ DETROIT was a night game! My original source that I've been trusting made an error of omission in its boxscore and neglected to indicate that this was a Monday Night game on 10/8 (I should've figured on that being played on a Monday. Dumb, dumb, dumb!) As the Lions of this era took to wearing the blue helmets at night, this would mark the lone appearance of the blue helmets for Detroit in 1951.
