okay isn't that gold, not yellow. I meant that we should call yellow yellow not that we should be calling gold yellow.

I didn't even notice until you pointed it out, Rob! I was successfully tuning out! Mad

I did make the redo 'gold' in color b/c a number of teams in this era had the same GOLD W going on.

I completely agree with you!
But the Wilson logo looks more yellow than gold to me...
Maybe it's my monitor

Its the same as this one. Your Marvin Harrison shot (and the one below it) is the best one for telling the gold-ness of the logo

Guys,

the Wilson mark is GOLD.

However, I've been known to have a streak of Steelers yellow running down my back.

But when I strike gold, I'll let you know!

And my emoticons are...yellow!!! Razz Razz Razz

maize -- I'd say burgundy and maize are the Redskins' colors. And wikipedia says of maize that: "The color maize or corn refers to a shade of yellow" Comparing the color of Redskins with the Rams in the one picture you posted...

...their yellow is just slightly more orangey than the Rams' yellow.

Rob,

I'd call the first 2 ("feather-heads" and the "Bobby Bowden's of the North") a shade of gold - probably what's referred to as "Old Gold."

The others are shades of yellow.

Try this one...(1978 Steelers)

Notice the pants are not yellow like the guy in the rain gear in the distant background.
I was actually AT this game (3 months shy of turning 7) - my first season of going with my Dad who still has season tickets. I still remember it because of the snow.

It was a December Saturday game: when the schedule was announced in April, Baltimore was coming off three straight playoff seasons. However, when Bert Jones went down before the start of the season, the Colts never recovered, eventually leading to Irsay's Mayflower move.
