Wow, I didn't realize power point could do something like that.
And the score bugs are great! These kind of things help make the league feel more real.
I've been working on snow cover for fields on snowy games:
I've also been suggested to use power point to add snow texture, so I'm going to give that a shot as well.

Something makes me feel like the Miller Park roof would be closed for Stags games, but I like it

Nah, it's football; they play in the elements (or I just forgot there was a retractable roof at Miller Park).
I guess I'll have to ask the owner about what games the roof will be opened/closed. Actual game day weather may effect that.

Re: Extra GSL Art
I think I might work on a GSL mod for Madden 08. Here's what I have so far:

Wow! Now these are amazing!
Really starts bringing the league to life when you can see action like this.
Is this Madden '08 on PC? I know Madden '08 has good customizability, since I've given out field images to people to add to the game, but if you can really get into the team details like this, I would like to look into simulating the league in Madden '08 for future seasons possibly. It would give a better simulation, and I could pull images from simulated games to display. This is just truly awesome.

This is 08 PC, and I'm one of those people who you've sent field images to (under a different email which is where I have people send me files of that nature). I think simulating the seasons through Madden would be a cool idea but sometimes the sim stats are weird.Austin Snelick wrote:Wow! Now these are amazing!

Also, I made an entire style guide for the Lightning:

Re: Extra GSL Art
Given that the league will have anywhere between 22 and 26 teams once we hit the January 31st deadline, that'll guarantee that there will two conferences, Eastern and Western.
The teams in each conference aren't completely decided yet, but if you look at the GSL team map, some teams are fairly obvious.
I've also designed some playoff logos for the 2021 season:
The Gridiron Bowl logo has not been created yet, but the owner of the Arizona Eagles will be creating the Gridiron Bowl logos.
Something that doesn't have a design or name yet is the Trophy for the Gridiron Bowl champion. I'm open to any ideas or concepts on that one.

As far as the schedule goes, I think I'll put it out today (game times and dates subject to change, only the opponents will be reliable). I was having trouble with a couple teams, that have three game stretches of home and away games, that just seem odd, but I haven't been able to work out how to prevent that. I don't think that'll be something I'll be able to fix, without writing some complicated program, to do the complex stuff for me, but for one season with 24 teams, I don't think it's worth it. Plus, 3 games on the road in a row won't actually effect these teams, the way that the simulation is written.
Next year I hope to bring the league up to 32 teams, so it would be a bit easier for me to map GSL teams to NFL teams, and make a schedule that way.

Three game home/road stretches happen often in the NFL. I know the Vikings had 3 straight home games this season, so it's not completely odd/inaccurate.Austin Snelick wrote:

Also, do signatures show up on this forum?

3 Home games in a row isn't that bad. I know at least one team has 3 straight road games twice, and another or maybe two teams end the season with three straight road games.
I'm not sure if signatures show up. I'm not too sure how this forum works though. Something to look into I guess.

Cincinnati and Washington are in the Eastern conference though. So I guess those games got cross flexed haha.

Re: Extra GSL Art
Here's an idea. I'm not sure if this is possible or not with the way the GUD is structured but here it goes: Team owners being able to customize their own team pages with team info, news, etc., and give them their own look. For example as the owner of the Lightning I'd be able to customize this page:
http://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=teams&team_id=LSV
I feel like it would give off the feeling of going to, for example, an NFL team's website. Like I said, it might not be possible but it would be cool.

It's definitely a possibility, but I don't want to be behind the web programming for that. If you can write an HTML page (you can test HTML on your localhost server), and host your images, and link to them on some other hosting website, it'll be very easy for me to serve that HTML. On my end, I'd just add a link to the top of your team page, for your team's personalized website. You'll have to learn the HTML and setting up a localhost webserver for testing on your own though. xampp is a good tool to download: https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html.

My idea is that the layouts wouldn't be much different than the layout of the GUD itself, just image/color changes and maybe other minor HTML edits.Austin Snelick wrote:NeauXone wrote:Here's an idea. Writing an HTML page is definitely something I'd be able to manage, I just have to remember all that goes into doing it.

Anything you want. My idea would be, you can come up with anything you want for your own team's web page. I was imagining, it would almost be like going to an external site, for your team's website. All I would do is have a link to your html (the file would have to be named LSV.html for your team). It would work very similar to the way I do owner bio's. If an HTML file for the owner bio exists, I include it in the page. So, if an HTML file for a team website exists, I'd include a link in your team page. Pretty simple.

Here is a project I am working on, A Miami SOL Mini Helmet.
Now to figure out how to make the helmet logo! ;-)

Re: Extra GSL Art
It really does. If I didn't have a full time job, I would for sure figure out a way to get all the teams in Madden, and simulate the league that way, and stream the games at game time (probably couldn't do it live, but could record, then post). That would be a full time job in itself though, running the league that way, and sadly, I did not win the billion dollar mega millions this weekend.

Quick favor to ask of the other owners.
If you don't mind, could you send me the number fonts used for each of your teams? In order to finish the GSL Madden Mod I want to have each of the numbers be as accurate as possible.

For Norfolk the black and white jersey numbers are italicized Megabomb. Everything else is standard NFL block font
