GSL 2021 Week 1

Here's the official thread for week 1 of the 2021 GSL season.

The season officially kicks off at 8:15PM EST tonight, when the Las Vegas Outlaws travel to Seattle to take on the Sockeyes.

Odds for tonight's game:

Seattle comes in as favorites in this season opener, which is expected to be an offensive shootout.

For those of you who don't know how betting lines work, the team with the - number next to it is favored by that many points to win the game. So, PEN -10.5 means that Pennsylvania is 10.5 favorites to win Monday night. o/u is the expected amount of points to be scored in the game, so an o/u of 39.5 means that it is expected that about 39.5 points will be scored in the CIN@PEN game. These are statistical expectations based on team strengths, and how the simulation works, but the results of course depend on the outcome of the simulation.

Madden Simulation predicted an offensive shootout in San Diego, we'll see if it holds up.

Sometimes there's just bad matchups; I would.t count your team out just yet. You should be competitive within your division, and there's always the chance you get rankings improvements at the end of a week.

Could be worse, you could be 18 point under dogs ...

My favorite uniform matchups of week 1

Looking at some of the uniforms matchups for this week, a couple stand out as my favorites.

I'm really a fan of the Atoms vs Breakers matchup:

I think the orange and blue play well against each other.

I also like the Terror vs Stags matchup, with a variety of colors there as well
